This is an example of a linenfold panel, a type of decorative feature that has a history stretching far back into early Mediaeval times. The timber chosen is normally oak but other types of wood can also be used. The scrolls are made using traditional moulding planes and the scroll ends are hand-cut using carving chisels. I can reproduce any linenfold panel given a photo of the pattern and some basic measurements – give me a call to discuss your requirements.
