Funerary Urn in Holly and Silver
This urn is a commissioned piece, and is made from turned holly timber with an inlaid silver ring.
Holly has a protective function in Celtic mythology; the white wood is also appropriate for some cultures where white is the colour of mourning. The wood is very fine-grained and can take a polish like marble, while still remaining warm to the hand. The inlaid band is sterling silver and is made and inlaid on-site.
